Bike/Pedestrian Media Campaign |
The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) hereby issues this Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified Consultants for the
purpose of issuing a contract for assistance with a Regional Public Bicycle and Pedestrian Education Campaign. The contract
awarded shall be based upon the proposal most advantageous to CRPC. Price and other factors will be considered.
One Prime-Consultant (Consultant) shall be selected for this contract. The Consultant may not subcontract the specified
services without the written agreement of CRPC.
Background
The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) is the Baton Rouge area's designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
Each metropolitan area must have an MPO in order to carry out regional transportation planning efforts and receive Federal Highway
Funds. As the Regional MPO, CRPC focuses a great deal of its resources on transportation planning issues and activities, which
includes highway planning, the regional ridesharing program and air quality issues. In addition, CRPC is one of eight sub-state
planning and development districts which cover all 64 parishes in the state of Louisiana.
CRPC’s was awarded a Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Grant through the Louisiana Department of Transportation. The Public Education
Campaign is one part of a four part grant. It also includes Law enforcement training, Outreach to youth and Adult Bike Commuter
Education.
